Introduction
Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging to diagnose and treat disease seen within the body.
Radiology/Radiographer use a variety of imaging techniques such as X-ray, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Nuclear medicine including positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to diagnose and / or treat diseases.
Mission:
The two main missions of the diagnostic radiology department are medical care and education. We provide high quality medical care including diagnostic and therapeutic radiological procedures to our patients. Secondly, we encourage SIWES and clinical posting training of student radiographers.
Services Rendered:
Services we render includes;
Digital X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound scan. We offer plane radiological procedures which involves the whole human anatomy (Upper Extremities, Lower Extremities, Chest, Abdomen, Skull, Spine, Pelvis etc.
We also offer special radiological contrast exams which includes: Intravenous Urography (IVU), Micturating - Cystourethrography (MCUG), Hysterosalpingography (HSG), Barium studies etc.
Ultrasound investigations which include: Obstetric scan, Pelvic scan, Abdominopelvic scan, Prostate scan, Doppler studies, Trans-fontanel scan, Gynaecological ultrasound services, Ultrasound of small parts (Scrotal, Thyroid, Breast, Musculoskeletal).
Special ultrasound investigations like ultrasound guided biopsy.
Core Strength of Radiology Department.
Radiology department is a patient friendly department. We offer twenty-four (24) hours services including accident and emergency cases, emergency obstetrics scan using mobile scan machine in the ward. We get high patients satisfaction rate, and referral rate whenever they access our services, This in turn increase our patients influx on a daily basis.
